THE WILDLIFE ART SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL
WILDLIFE VISITS 2008.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of TWASI has always been the opportunity to meet at an interesting venue, and to sketch or photograph or even sculpt the wildlife, in a friendly group of like-minded artists!
I hope that many more of you from all areas will take the opportunity to continue this sociable habit in 2008.
This year I should like to suggest that we try as often as possible to rely less on our cameras – perhaps even leave them at home – and enjoy sketching or painting together.
Some of the venues guarantee wildlife, others may reward us with marvelous landscapes – why not try them all!
We cannot organise transport for members, but wherever possible, car sharing will be suggested.
Salcey Forest, near Hartwell, Northamptonshire. Sunday 27th April.
Magnificent woodland with many ancient trees, deer, birds including three types of woodpecker, and ponds full of newts! At this time, the woods will be colourful with bluebells, and the emerging leaves should give good views of the birds – come along to walk through the woods, look and sketch or paint the springtime colours.
