Marianne Nightingale has many years experience as an artist and textile designer, specialising in working with natural materials. Due to the experience she has in working with silk, all her paintings are worked on this beautiful fabric.

Using different weights and weaves of silk to suit the chosen subject, Marianne's distinctive paintings have a character which is absolutely unique. Each painting uses the luminosity and sheen of the particular weave of silk to achieve an intensity and depth that is unobtainable with any other medium

Publicising the plight of endangered habitat and species plays an important role in Marianne's work and she is particularly concerned about the wildlife in India and the crises in Tiger and Elephant poaching. The cruel trade in poached Tiger bones, parts and Elephant tusks, together with the loss of habitat needs urgent attention before these magnificent and magical creatures disappear forever.

Although Marianne has many projects and ideas to work on, commissions are always welcome and because of her unique way of working and distinctive style will always appreciate in value.

Her work is regularly exhibited in galleries throughout the UK and in private collections.
