I lived in Nigeria, West Africa as a child and teenager, and it was probably this that attracted me to wildlife as a subject matter. The pulse and vibrancy of life is so different to London where I live now. I studied art at school and college and currently work as a graphic designer, and hope to be producing some more graphic based images shortly, but different from my wildlife paintings.

I prefer to give an impression of animals and their environment, rather than detail everything too much. The camera would produce a more exact image, so the creativity is in the design and composition, colours and textures. Even though I use a camera for reference I usually sketch the composition first, and when I start to get too fussy with the details I get out the palette knife which keeps things fresh.
